VideoSurveillance.com introduces Mobile Surveillance Systems for public transit
December 27, 2010
To help combat transit security threats, VideoSurveillance.com recently introduced two new Mobile Surveillance Systems for use in a wide variety of public transportation applications including buses, taxi cabs, light rail, trains, and subways. Incorporating a mobile surveillance system can alleviate many security concerns by deterring criminal activity and inappropriate behavior, increasing safety by helping drivers focus on their jobs, and providing law enforcement officials with crucial evidence in the event of a criminal investigation.
The Mobotix Bus & Rail Surveillance System is powered by the compact and discreet 360° Mobotix Q24 IP camera. One Q24 camera captures the entire scene with a panorama function and quad view that shows images from four different angles simultaneously. For flexible installation, the Q24 operates using Power over Ethernet (PoE), an ideal solution for mobile applications because it requires a single network cable for power and data transmission.
The Vivotek Mobile Surveillance System features the Vivotek MD7560, which provides high-quality video footage with 2-megapixerl resolution. The detailed images the IP camera produces make it possible to identify faces and other crucial details. With IP67-rated housing, the MD7560 is built to withstand tampering and harsh weather elements. The Vivotek system is also supported by Power over Ethernet (PoE).
Both systems are equipped with everything needed for installation and operation. Each is supplied with a DC/DC POE Injector, a MicroSD card, and an optional 12V Wireless Device. The included MicroSD card eliminates the need for a PC or NVR for recording because the card provides long-term storage and all images are processed within the camera itself. This helps optimize network bandwidth and reduces overall system costs.
