ACTi cameras foster school security in Kersey, Colorado
When Platte Valley Schools (PVS) decided to begin a network video program, authorities looked for an easy to use and affordable solution. The northern Colorado schools selected ACTi IP cameras and software to monitor its elementary, middle and high school buildings, which are located on one large campus.
PVS installed high definition PTZ cameras around the stadium, parking lot and outside of buildings. Inside the schools, ACTi cameras were placed to secure entrances, hallways, cafeterias and offices. Monitoring these high traffic areas helps keep students and staff safe from security risks, as well as provides unquestionable proof in case of misbehavior.
The schools' IT director, Mike Jakel, reports that the system provides numerous benefits, including crystal clear image quality.
"Being able to get law enforcement or administration tangible evidence in just a matter of seconds has really been one of the most beneficial parts of having this system," said Jackel. "We also like the fact that it's affordable and works well with our existing infrastructure."
