At Present, 80% of Security Installers Use IP Surveillance Products
IMS Research, a leading global electronics market research and consultancy firm, predicts that in 2013, IP surveillance equipment sales will surpass those of analog video equipment.
One of the key findings from the IP Trends in Security -- A Survey of Systems Integrators and Installers is that IP surveillance products are currently employed by 80% of security integrators and installers. IMS Research estimates that by 2015, 90% of them will use network surveillance equipment.
IT Managers, who are generally responsible for implementing IP surveillance equipment, are considered to have greater influence over security than physical security managers, officers, and consultants according to the report.
Possible reasons for the increased use of IP surveillance equipment among IT managers include larger IT budgets as well as the evolution of technology in the last several years.
