Two Vivotek network cameras win Taiwan Excellence Awards
Two Vivotek cameras were recently awarded Taiwan Excellence awards from the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA). The awards are administered to recognize products that create outstanding value through innovation.
One award went to the Vivotek IP8151 network camera. The IP8151 uses a Sony Exmor 1.3 megapixel sensor and an IR-cut filter for high-quality surveillance even in nighttime conditions. The network camera also supports the H.264 compression standard, which drastically reduces file sizes to optimize network storage and bandwidth. Additionally, the IP8151 operates using Power over Ethernet (PoE), has a built-in SD/SDHC card slot for on-board storage, and comes with built-in tamper detection.
A second award recognized the FD8134 fixed dome indoor IP camera. This FD8134 has already made quite a name for itself aiding emergency personnel in the rescue of the trapped Chilean miners last fall. The compact fixed dome camera boasts a 1-megapixel sensor and a removable IR-cut filter for true 24-hour surveillance. Like the Vivotek IP8151, the FD8134 supports Power over Ethernet (PoE) and H.264. On-board storage is provided by a MicroSD/SDHC card slot. The FD8134 also comes with video motion and tamper detection and 32-channel recording software.
