Panasonic i-PRO SmartHD network cameras enable face detection

Published by Amelia on October 21, 2010 1:12 PM

Taking surveillance image quality into the high-definition frontier, Panasonic is releasing the i-PRO SmartHD series of network cameras. The new line of i-PRO cameras is capable of automatic real-time face detection and can even enhance the image to make it more prominent in differently lit settings. This feature makes the new cameras ideal for retailers, convenience stores, business settings and other applications where face recognition and accurate identification is crucial.

The i-PRO SmartHD network cameras use Panasonic's UniPher® LSI processor to produce HD images and superb colors. With H.264 compression technology, the i-PRO cameras help to optimize network bandwidth and storage space. A 1.3-megapixel MOS image sensor enables higher sensitivity and lower power consumption.

The new line of six cameras features of combination of IP box cameras and fixed network dome cameras. All the cameras have a Video Motion Detector with four programmable detection areas. The i-PRO line supports H.264, MPEG-4 and JPEG streams in addition to Power over Ethernet (PoE) for easier and more cost-effective installation.
