New Sony HDTV cameras for day/night surveillance added to VideoSurveillance.com

Published by Amelia on November 15, 2010 9:59 AM

Offering true day and night surveillance, Sony recently introduced two new cameras for indoor and outdoor applications. Both the Sony fixed SNC-CH160 and the SNC-DH160 fixed dome HDTV IP cameras are equipped with 1.3 megapixel resolution and built-in IR illuminators that help capture images in the dark up to 15 meters (49 feet) away. Using Sony Exmor CMOS sensor technology, the SNC-CH160 and the SNC-DH160 deliver high-quality images with low noise.

Both IP cameras support H.264 and are also compatible with MPEG-4 and JPEG compression technologies. The SNC-CH160 and SNC-DH160 are capable of dual-streaming and support Power over Ethernet (PoE) for flexible installation and simple data transmission through a single Ethernet cable.

The Sony network cameras are built for both indoor and outdoor use. The SNC-CH160 features IP66-rated housing for withstanding the elements. The SNC-DH160 boasts IK10-rated vandal-resistant housing for protection against tampering.
