Milestone XProtect helps secure Danish night club
When people head out on the town looking for a bit of adventure, most don't want to compromise their safety for a good time. Increasingly, clubs like Karel van Mander in Copenhagen, Denmark, are installing video surveillance systems to help keep crime and violence out. This upscale night club recently began using Milestone XProtect to manage its network video surveillance system. In addition to increasing safety and security, the nightclub also uses the system to provide proof in the case of discrimination claims.
Karel van Mander is an exclusive venue that hosts hundreds of clubbers each weekend. Using Milestone XProtect and Axis cameras, the club registers each guest by name and social security number before granting entrance. This system enables staff to track guests throughout the premises and, in the case of crime or misbehavior, determine who is responsible. The software enables users to control cameras, view live or archived footage and export images to police easily. In fact, with undisputable evidence, the club is often able to dismiss trouble makers without involving police.
Since transitioning to IP video surveillance from their former analog system, the club has enjoyed an 80 percent drop in reported cases to the board that licenses nightclubs. With its easily visible cameras and powerful video surveillance software, the club is better able to prevent incidents and deal with issues independently when they do arise.
Milestone software is an ideal solution for increasing security at dance clubs and other busy venues where protecting staff and guests is a priority.
