Introducing the Bosch AutoDome Easy IP network camera

Published by Dan on April 8, 2009 3:47 PM

Bosch Security Systems has added a new PTZ camera to its product line. The Bosch AutoDome Easy IP is a compact and affordable indoor pan/tilt/zoom camera that aims to bridge the gap between fixed minidomes and traditional PTZ cameras. The camera's compact size makes it ideal for discrete surveillance applications. It's about half the size of a traditional PTZ camera, and it's also smaller than most minidomes. When you factor in the camera's pan/tilt/zoom functionality, that's a pretty impressive little package. Because of its PTZ capabilities, a single Bosch AutoDome Easy IP camera can monitor wide areas that would normally require multiple fixed minidomes.

With its sleek compact design, the AutoDome Easy IP is especially well-suited for video monitoring in schools, retail stores, and corporate settings. The camera features high-performance 100x zoom with excellent sensitivity and resolution. The camera uses H.264 video compression to reduce bandwidth and storage costs while streaming high-resolution images. H.264 can reduce bandwidth and storage by up to 30 percent when compared to traditional MPEG-4 encoding. The AutoDome Easy IP can also record straight to a network-attached iSCSI storage array.

Pan/tilt/zoom functions, presets, tours, and alarms can be operated and managed remotely from anywhere on the network. Another key attribute of the AutoDome Easy IP is its rugged, tamper-proof housing. The camera features a heavy-duty aluminum housing with a polycarbonate bubble that protects it from vandalism and theft.
