Bosch launches NBC-255-P IP camera with H.264 compression

Published by Dan on September 11, 2009 10:29 AM

Bosch has introduced the NBC-255-P as the first offering in its new 200 Series of all-in-one IP cameras. The Bosch NBC-255-P is a compact IP camera that operates as a complete network surveillance solution, with no additional equipment required. It's designed to make surveillance of small businesses and property easy and affordable. As a stand-alone system, the camera can capture and record several days' worth of footage to an onboard Secure Digital (SD) flash memory card. The camera can also transmit video footage over the network for remote viewing and recording.

To help save costs and to make the most of available storage space, the Bosch NBC-255-P uses H.264 compression. H.264 allows users to stream and record high-quality video at files sizes that are greatly reduced when compared to previous compression technologies.

The camera comes with surveillance software that lets operators access footage remotely using a standard web browser. I also provides tools for archiving video clips, and quick searching of recorded footage. The Bosh NBC-255-P includes a varifocal lens that delivers detailed color images. Camera highlights include built-in motion detection, tamper detection, and two-way audio.
