Happy birthday! ASIS 2011 and Axis celebrate the 15th anniversary of the IP camera
They grow up so fast. Yesterday Axis hosted a birthday party for the 15-year anniversary of the network video camera at ASIS 2011. In September of 1996, Axis launched the network camera industry by introducing the world's first IP camera at a tradeshow in the U.S. While the camera was initially intended for Web attraction, it was the first step in the changeover from analog CCTV technology to IP surveillance.
At the Axis booth, ASIS show attendees toasted the past, present, and future of IP video with the Axis co-founder and inventor of the network camera. In the present Axis remains a leader in the IP-industry with an impressive selection of IP cameras. We look forward to seeing what they do next.
