Published by Dan on December 10, 2009 3:34 PM

Axis Communications has announced that the Axis 207 network camera is now a discontinued product. The company suggests the Axis M1011 IP camera as a suitable replacement. The M1011 is a compact, affordable network camera ideal for securing homes, small businesses, restaurants, hotels, and other indoor locations. Axis will continue to support the Axis 207 until November 30th, 2012. It's also important to note that the Axis 207W and 207WM wireless network cameras have NOT been discontinued.

Axis M1011

With its functional and smart design, the Axis M1011 packs a lot of punch in a small package. The camera streams full VGA resolution video at up to 30 frames per second. It uses leading-edge H.264 compression to optimize bandwidth and storage efficiency by significantly reducing bit rate without compromising image quality.

Other attributes of the Axis M1011 include progressive scan, individually configurable video streams in H.264, MPEG-4 or MJPEG formats, and advanced security and network management features.
