ACTi network cameras deliver restaurant surveillance solution

Published by Dan on May 21, 2009 11:47 AM

Here's a delicious example of IP surveillance direct from Naples, Italy. A family-owned pizza place called La Focaccia has installed a new IP-based surveillance system featuring ACTi network cameras. The cameras help to monitor the large crowds that gather in the shop each day to savor La Focaccia's tasty pizza pie. With a school located close by, the restaurant serves upwards of 1000 people each day. With the ACTi IP surveillance solution, the shop owner can now capture clear video of every customer who enters in case there's an incident. The cameras prove especially useful in deterring illegal acts such as theft and robberies, and also help to protect the restaurant after business hours.

A total of six ACTi network cameras now monitor La Focaccia. The system features three ACTi ACM-1300 indoor IP bullet cameras, and three ACTi ACM-3311 indoor fixed dome cameras. All of the cameras support Power over Ethernet, which allows for easy installation without the need for nearby power outlets. Power to the cameras is delivered via standard Ethernet cable. The same cable also carries the video transmissions. Both camera models also provide day/night functionality with an IR cut filter and IR LED, so they can capture detailed video images 24 hours a day without interruption.
