ACTi IP cameras secure Portugese palace
The National Palace of Portugal is lauded for its cultural significance and beauty. The castle towers on a hill overlooking the town of Sintra and hosts a number of tourists throughout the year. Officials wanted to be able to monitor activities at the palace without obstructing its aesthetics, so they discreetly placed 72 ACTi IP cameras throughout the premesis.
Three kinds of ACTi network cameras were selected: TCM-1231, CAM-6610 and ACM-1511. The TCM-1231 is a megapixel bullet camera used to monitor the exterior of the castle. It's designed to endure harsh weather and provide day/night coverage with a built-in IR cut filter. The CAM-6610 is an outdoor speed dome boasting 18x zoom and backlight compensation. Lastly, the ACM-1511 a fixed bullet IP camera with a megapixel sensor designed for day/night surveillance and indoor installation.
This video surveillance system is managed by an ACTi NVR. Together these components protect the castle from vandalism while helping to increase security.
