The IP8132 H.264 indoor IP camera provides megapixel surveillance in a compact package. Discreet, the camera offers a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels at 30 frames per second.

Power over Ethernet (PoE)
Chances are if you’ve been shopping for an IP camera you’ve heard the term Power over Ethernet (PoE). PoE is an increasingly common and incredibly useful function for IP cameras, allowing for flexible camera installation saving both time and resources. Power over Ethernet allows LAN-enabled devices such as IP cameras and IP telephones to be powered over an IP network infrastructure using standard Ethernet cabling.
For IP camera systems featuring PoE cameras, each camera transmits data and receives power using a single Ethernet cable. This eliminates the need for complicated and expensive cabling because the system operates along an existing network. Using PoE also means IP cameras can be placed in areas where power outlets aren’t readily available. Cameras can be installed where they are needed, not just where the AC sockets are. The power to the cameras is supplied directly from the data ports that the cameras and other network devices are connected to.
Besides flexible and cost-effective installation, Power over Ethernet technology also enables easy installation of uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) for video surveillance system applications that require 24-hour surveillance. Using UPS, surveillance will continue even during power outages.
