From any computer with an Internet connection and Internet Explorer 6, you can take still shots and record directly onto your current computer without installing any extra software. Or, program your DCS-950 to record to network-attached storage (NAS), without designating another computer as a storage unit for surveillance footage!
Integrated set-up, installation and management
D-Link includes everything you'll need to set up your DCS-950. Although this Internet camera conforms to Universal Plug & Play standards, accompanying D-Link software will allow you to play your videos back, monitor live footage from up to four cameras on one screen, save videos to your hard drive or NAS and configure your camera's motion detection system to trigger recording and automatically send e-mail alerts whenever it detects movement. The DCS-950 may also be connected to the DSM Wireless Media Player, which allows you to wirelessly stream your videos to your television-- an excellent feature for home security systems.
