Stand-alone simplicity
This innovative security camera contains a built-in CPU and Web server that make it possible for you to access the camera with any computer that runs Internet Explorer 5.X or higher. Its stand-alone functionality sets it apart from conventional PC cameras, although you may use D-Link's included surveillance software to download streaming video and audio files to your hard drive. A built-in microphone captures and records sounds close to the camera, with audio/video ports that allow you to set up a two-way audio system for better entry-point screening.
Sophisticated IP software
Integrated D-Link software also allows you to play video back, monitor up to 16 cameras on one screen and configure your camera so that perceived motions trigger recording. The DCS-5300 uses MPEG4 video files, which are ideal for extended recording periods. If you choose, you may sign up with one of many Dynamic DNS services to create a memorable domain name and address so that you can access your camera's Web interface without having to remember an IP address.
Fewer cameras, bigger viewing range
The DCS-5300 contains a pan, tilt and 4X digital zoom function that you can control either from your Web interface or the included remote control. In auto-pan mode, your camera moves 270 degrees horizontally, and in Patrol mode, it will cycle through up to 20 preset positions for maximum visibility. However, the pan and tilt speeds are both completely adjustable for additional customization. Whether for home or office use, the DCS-5300 is a great fit for those who travel often and want the ability to check in on home and office events from afar.
