Axis 209FD-R network cameras provide bus surveillance in Prague
Axis Communications is involved in a large-scale bus surveillance project in Prague. The deployment features 3.500 Axis 209FD-R network cameras monitoring the interior of each vehicle in the city's fleet of public transit buses. The cameras will improve passenger and driver security, and will also provide visual evidence to help solve crimes such as vandalism and theft.
The Axis 209FD-R is a great option for video surveillance on buses and other public transit vehicles. The palm-sized camera features a sleek, compact design that makes it perfect for discreet surveillance. It also boasts rugged construction which helps in tough conditions such as moving vehicles. With its durable transparent cover, the Axis 209FD-R is well-protected from dust, humidity and vibrations. And there's also a small, built-in heater that eliminates condensation on the camera lens.
Installation of the Axis 209FD-R network cameras began in November 2009. By 2014, 3,500 Axis cameras will be in place, covering all buses throughout Prague's public transit system.
