Learn How To Select the Best Security Camera System for use in your Home or Business in our Insider's Guide to Video Surveillance.
South African company TriBeCa imports, processes and distributes coffee beans to some of the country’s most prominent food and beverage retailers. To accommodate the demands of one of its most profitable clients as well as to increase general safety, TriBeCa installed 22 Vivotek IP7142 and two FD1732 cameras on its premises.
The cameras are positioned to monitor the company’s receiving, production and dispatch areas. Interestingly, some of the cameras are used specifically for photographing x-ray scans of the packaged food products. This video surveillance documents TriBeCa’s effort to ensure their food stuffs contain no foreign material, such as small pebbles commonly found in large bags of coffee beans.
TriBeCa selected the Vivotek IP7142 for its superior handling of high contrast lighting with wide dynamic range capabilities. Also, both the IP7142 and the FS7132 were chosen for their day/night functionality provided with IR-cut filters and IR illuminators.
In addition to quality control and security, TriBeCa’s new Vivotek network video system has encouraged worker productivity and safety. It may even be that employee surveillance increases product quality by ensuring workers perform tasks to standard and adhere to hygiene standards.
