Surveillance Footage used to Identify Fraud Suspect
Thanks to surveillance cameras at Nordstrom department stores in the Portland, OR area, police and FBI agents have identified Jamie Lynn Bacon, of Beaverton, OR, as the thief who has defrauded Nordstrom of nearly $10,000 since fall 2006.
Bacon, 25, would use a stolen credit card to purchase items at Nordstrom stores, then return the items for cash, taking advantage of Nordstrom's relaxed return policies.
From footage stills provided in a recent press release, Bacon's face is clearly visible. Nordstrom stores use IP cameras and digital video surveillance. Digital footage is clearer than analog footage from CCTV cameras, and is probably a key player in determining the identity of Ms. Bacon. The FBI and Portland Police department are offering a $1,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest of Ms. Bacon.
