Coming soon, the Vivotek FD8133 / FD8134 indoor dome camera

Published by Dan on July 9, 2010 1:46 PM

We've got more new product announcements out of the Vivotek camp. Coming this August, look for a new set of compact, fixed dome cameras for indoor security applications. The Vivotek FD8133 and its PoE counterpart, the FD8134, each boast a 1-megapixel sensor enabling 1280x800 video resolution at up to 30 frames per second for highly detailed monitoring.

The new cameras also provide H.264 video compression which helps to reduce video file sizes, something especially important when dealing with megapixel video. H.264 allows users to take advantage of the camera's high resolution while optimizing bandwidth and storage space.

Another attribute of both the Vivotek FD8133 and the FD8134 is a built-in MicroSD/SDHC card slot for on-board recording. This comes in handy for surveillance applications in hard to reach areas, and also for backup recording in the case of a network outage.

What differentiates the FD8133 and theFD8134? The key distinctions involve connectivity and low-light performance. The FD8134 supports Power over Ethernet, and offers true day/night functionality with a removable IR-cut filter and built-in IR illuminators, making it the preferred choice for applications requiring around-the-clock surveillance.

Both camera models should be available later this summer.
