QNAP Security just announced a pair of new high-performance network video recorders offering real-time monitoring, large storage capacity, and diverse recording features. Both the QNAP VioStor-2012 and the QNAP VioSotr-2008 are 2-bay, Intel Atom-based, hot-swappable network surveillance systems. These standalone NVRs offer support for cutting-edge surveillance technologies such as megapixel recording and H.264 video compression. And the work with most popular network camera brands, including Axis, ACTi, Arecont Vision, IQeye, Mobotix, Sony, Vivotek, and many more.
What's the different between the two network video recorders? The QNAP VioStor-2012 support 12-channel recording, while the VioStor-2008 supports 8-channel recording. Both systems support Motion JPEG, MPEG-4 and H.264 compression technologies to deliver high-performance surveillance in environments with limited bandwidth. With a low-power Atom CPU, each of these network video recorders is energy-efficient and silent.
An intuitive interface allows users to monitor cameras, view connection status, recording status, and network bandwidth usage. Both systems allow for megapixel recording from multiple cameras, and also provide intelligent data search by timeline and event type. The VioStor-2012 and VioStor-2008 feature a hot-swap design and support SATA hard drives for a storage capacity of up to 4TB. This makes them ideal for long-term recording.
