QNAP has announced a firmware upgrade for its VioStor series of network video recorders. The new firmware, version 3.2.0, supports more powerful event management, increased user access control, and a larger selection of IP camera models. VioStor NVR users can download the updated firmware for free at the QNAP website.
The new firmware strengthens VioStor NVR event management with improved support for motion detection, network disconnection, recording failure, and pre-defined events. It also provides more handling options in response to those events, as well as alarms. For instance, a PTZ camera can be programmed to move automatically to a preset position for targeted monitoring and recording. Alarm output can also be triggered, as well automated email and SMS alerts. The update also improves VioStor NVR user access control.
