Introducing the QNAP Viostor-8040U-RP and VioStor-8040 NVR network surveillance systems

QNAP Security is rolling out two new NVR network surveillance systems. The QNAP VioStor-8040-RP is a high-performance network video recorder featuring an 8-bay chassis, while the QNAP VioStor-8040 NVR comes in the form of an 8-bay tower. Each NVR supports over 24 IP camera brands and 300 different IP camera models from leading manufacturers such as Axis, ACTi, Arecont Vision, Canon, IQeye, and Vivotek. They provide 40-channel recording and 16TB storage capacity with 8 hot-swappable hard drive bays.

What makes QNAP NVRs unique is they're true standalone systems. No additional software is required, as the NVR servers provide built-in tools for central monitoring and recording, along with a host of sophisticated features. Both of these systems offer complete recording features such as scheduled recording, alarm and motion-based recording, and pre/post-alarm recordings. The VioStor-8040-RP and VioStor-8040 also allow intelligent data search by event type and timeline.

Another attribute of these high-performance NVRs is their ability to handle many of the latest IP video technologies. Both NVRs support Megapixel recording, RAID technology, and offer M-JPEG, MPEG-4, and H.264 video compression.
