Pelco releases new Spectra IV IP dome camera with H.264 compression

Published by Dan on July 20, 2010 4:10 PM

Last week Pelco released a new version of its Spectra IV IP dome camera system featuring H.264 video compression. The latest edition of the Spectra IV gives users the flexibility to choose between MJPEG, MPEG4 and leading-edge H.264 compression to reduce bandwidth consumption and storage requirements. H.264 helps to considerably reduce video file sizes without compromising image quality. This makes it ideal for applications requiring high-resolution video. Since video files are smaller with H.264, there's less burden on the network, and less drive space is required for recording and storing video.

Along with H.264 compression, the new Pelco Spectra IV offers improved focusing capabilities for fast and accurate pan/tilt/zoom control. The cameras also use a new lens for sharper image quality, and provides frame noise reduction for cleaner overall images.
