Pelco Endura System and Spectra IV IP cameras bring digital surveillance to Ethiopian airport

Published by Dan on December 23, 2009 11:11 AM

Ethiopia's Addis Ababa Bole International Airport (EAE) is leaping into the digital surveillance age with a new IP-based system featuring network cameras and video management tools from Pelco. Already the most advanced airport in the region, EAE will now be monitored by a cutting-edge surveillance system featuring over 300 cameras, including 260 Pelco Spectra IV IP cameras, with the Endura system handling monitoring and digital video recording.

The Pelco Enduro video surveillance system will be used not only for security monitoring, but also to improve overall airport operations. The cameras will cover all areas of the airport, including the cargo terminal, domestic and international terminals, as well as parking areas. Five viewing stations and an additional workstation will allow security personnel to monitor live and recorded video footage from multiple locations. The system will also support mobile surveillance from a control unit installed in a vehicle.
