Schlage and Panasonic deliver wireless door lock system with remote video monitoring

Published by Dan on September 15, 2008 1:57 PM

Schlage and Panasonic have formed a partnership that will expand the capabilities of the new Schlage LiNK door locks to include remote video monitoring. By offering integration with Panasonic IP cameras, Schlage's wireless-controlled door locks will provide homeowners with 24/7 remote control and monitoring capabilities via computer or web-enabled cell phone. Users will be able to control the locks and view real-time video using the Schlage LiNK online portal.

Schlage LiNK locks and deadbolts allow for keyless entry using 4-digit access codes that can be entered, activated, disabled, or deleted on the lock's push-button keypad, or online via the Schlage LiNK web portal or mobile application. This provides homeowners with a number of benefits: They don't need to circulate multiple sets of keys. Family members, guests, and service providers can be granted entry at any time. And the system's video capabilities allow users to confirm the guests before allowing access. The system can also be set up to send text and email messages when specific codes are used, and can track codes for 90 days.

The Panasonic IP cameras come bundled with video management software, while the Schlage LiNK door locks offer Ethernet connectivity for quick and easy installation and configuration.
