Panasonic surveillance cameras help to secure venues during Vancouver Winter Olympics
The 2010 Winter Olympic Games are underway in Vancouver, and like any big event that draws large crowds, security is a key concern. Of course when you're talking about the Olympic Games, it's not just one big crowd on one day, it's an entire world of fans invading Vancouver and the surrounding region for weeks on end. To better protect the various Olympic venues, Panasonic has provided a range of IP security products, including network cameras from the company's popular i-Pro series.
The primary camera being deployed by Panasonic at these Winter Games is the WV-NW484S, a vandal-resistant IP dome camera that uses super dynamic technology to capture detailed images even in high-contrast settings. The camera is IP66-rated for use in extreme weather conditions, and features a tough polycarbonate dome, making it ideal for exposed locations throughout the various venues. With MPEG-4 and JPEG dual streaming, operators can program the camera for simultaneous live viewing and high-resolution recording. Other features that should prove useful during Winter Games surveillance include day/night functionality and auto back focus.
Along with the Panasonic WV-NW484S, the Olympic Games surveillance solution will also incorporate Panasonic WV-NW964 outdoor PTZ dome cameras, and WV-NS954 indoor PTZ domes.
