Panasonic outdoor IP cameras featured on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

Published by Dan on January 26, 2010 4:12 PM

If you watched last Sunday's episode of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, you'll likely remember seeing IP cameras from Panasonic in action. Panasonic provided four splash-resistant outdoor network cameras to the program. The cameras were deployed as part of a home surveillance installation that aims to deter theft and vandalism, while allowing the homeowners to monitor their property remotely form any computer or web-enabled cell phone.

If you're unfamiliar with Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, it's the show where the loud guy with spiky hair and his friends help out families in need by remodeling their homes. In this episode, the family received not only a new and improved house, but also a cutting edge surveillance system to monitor it. The system features a medley of Panasonic IP cameras, including the BB-HCM735 outdoor model, the Panasonic BB-HCM701, BB-HCM705, and also the Panasonic BB-HCM715 network camera.

Each camera comes with a built-in web server, allowing for real-time streaming of clear and crisp video images. They can detect motion, sound and shock when a sensor is triggered, and can be programmed to send the family automated email alerts upon detection.
