ISC West 2010: Panasonic rolls out 4-channel H.264 video encoder

Published by Dan on March 25, 2010 4:08 PM

Panasonic Systems has announced a new 4-channel video encoder that offers easy integration between analog security cameras and IP networked system applications. The Panasonic WJ-GXE500 encoder is a hybrid solution designed for those transitioning from analog to IP-based surveillance. Analog footage is converted to digital, and streamed using H.264 compression to optimize network bandwidth and storage space.

The encoder features Panasonic's i-Pro Smart HD to deliver HD quality images. Other highlights include powerful analytics such as face detection, plus bandwidth and energy efficiency, full frame rate video, and Power over Ethernet. The Panasonic WJ-GXE500 is also easy to setup and operate.

The WJ-GXE500 will be available in May 2010.
