Park Central is a 550,440-square-foot complex located in the heart of Denver's downtown business district. The building contains everything from a bank and ATM machines, to a fitness room, restaurant, and a media center. In order to provide effective security for the complex, a video surveillance system incorporating both IP cameras and analog CCTV cameras was recently installed. The surveillance solution features ACTi megapixel IP cameras along with analog cameras all running to a NUUO Hybrid NDVR server.
The combination of IP and analog cameras helps to control costs, while the NUUO video management platform allows for powerful and efficient video analysis. In the current setup, analog CCTV cameras monitor the main entrances and lobby area, while ACTI megapixel IP cameras provide a clear, wide-area view of the outdoor plaza. Because of their high resolution, the 3-megapixel ACTi cameras can cover much broader areas than a standard surveillance camera. This is another cost-saving benefit of the Park Central surveillance solution, as larger areas can be covered using fewer cameras.
Using smart detection to maximize efficiency, the cameras are set to record based on motion or pre-defined events. This helps to save storage and bandwidth costs, and also makes surveillance more precise.
