Mitsubishi steers itself into the IP camera fray

Usually when you hear the name "Mitsubishi," you think of the first-generation Mitsubishi Eclipse sports car your father bought during his midlife crisis in the late 80's. But now, the electric side of the company has launched itself headfirst into the burgeoning IP camera market. Mitsubishi Electric's first IP camera offerings were revealed at the IFSEC conference in May. Each is a professional network camera offering high-quality digital video at full frame rates up to 25 frames per second with MPEG-4 compression.

Mitsubishi IP cameras are available in both indoor and outdoor models, as well as vandal-proof domes for vulnerable areas in need of uninterrupted surveillance. They offer a variety of sophisticated features including video motion detection, alarm input and output, and automated alerts via email or FTP. The product line includes the Mitsubishi NM-C110 professional network camera, the Mitsubishi NM-C130FD color dome network camera, and the Mitsubishi NM-C150SD PTZ dome network camera.
