This past January, France unveiled its new multisport stadium to the world, complete with an innovative network camera system featuring Milestone Xprotect and Sony IP cameras. Located in Le Mans, the large venue can support up to 38,000 people during concerts and 25,000 during sporting events such as soccer and rugby. With such a vast capacity, MMArena poses a challenging surveillance scenario.
The cutting edge video surveillance system boasts more than 100 Sony IP cameras and Milestone XProtect Corporate video management software. These innovative products work together to provide high definition video recording, a must for viewing fine details and identifying people. This is especially important in dealing with issues of overly-rowdy fans, vandalism and security threats. Many of the cameras are powerful PTZ domes with exceptional zoom capabilities. All of the cameras feature H.264 compression, helping to reduce bandwidth and storage requirements.
MMArena connected XProtect Corporate to an XProtect Smart Wall module for controlling two image walls and several 47-inch full HD screens that can display one full screen image or show multiple streams at one time. All images are accessible from four workstations for the utmost in versatility and security. XProtect is renowned for its ability to interface easily with third party technologies.
IP cameras are positioned to constantly monitor entrances/exits, ticketing, security check and vending zones, while additional IP cameras are in place to view fan and player bus arrival, spectators and parking as needed. Indeed, this system is especially flexible and manageable despite the large number of powerful cameras.
