Milestone releases XProtect Enterprise 6.5 video surveillance software
Milestone has upgraded its powerful, and popular, Xprotect Enterprise video management software. Milestone XProtect Enterprise 6.5 is designed to handle the needs of large video surveillance installations and multi-site security camera systems by offering sophisticated management tools, fast search capabilities, flexible scheduling, analysis, and integration. Improvements have been made in the areas of audio support, storage, bandwidth use, data access support, and localization.
Let's take a closer look at some of these upgrades:
In the area of audio support, the XProtect Enterprise Server is now capable of transmitting the Smart Client's microphone input to external speakers connected to IP devices. This allows for two-way audio communication.
New compression technologies such as H.264, MPEG-4 ASP, and MxPEG help to reduce consumption of network space and storage, while bandwidth is optimized with multi-streaming. With XProtect Enterprise 6.5, the Recording Server is able to take a single video stream from the camera and split it into separate streams for live viewing and recording. The archiving process has also been improved.
And for integration with access control, alarms, and security systems, the XProtect Recording Server supports OPC Data Access.
Go here for a full rundown of Milestone XProtect Enterprise 6.5 features and improvements.
