Lumenera Le165 IP cameras aim to improve low-light megapixel surveillance

Published by Dan on June 24, 2008 3:55 PM

When megapixel IP cameras were first introduced, there were some concerns about the performance of the cameras in low-light and nighttime conditions. Naturally the technology improved over time, and now a slew of manufacturers are offering megapixel cameras that deliver superior performance even in the most difficult lighting situations. Lumenera, for instance, recently made available true day/night versions of the network cameras in its Le165 product line.

The Lumenera Le165 megapixel cameras are geared toward surveillance applications requiring high dynamic range to capture top-quality video footage in tough lighting conditions. The optional day/night functionality enables Lumenera's Le165 cameras to deliver outstanding megapixel picture quality even at night. With an ExView HAD CCD sensor, the cameras have low-light sensitivity below 0.01 lux, in addition to NIR capabilities.
