JVC IP cameras and NVRs earn awards at MIPS 2009

Published by Dan on March 12, 2009 1:46 PM

JVC took Manufacturer of the Year honors at the Milestone Integration Platform Symposium (MIPS 2009) recently held in Las Vegas. JVC received the award for its line of embedded network video recorders, including the JVC VR-N1600U and VR-N900U, and its complete selection of IP network cameras. MIPS is an annual forum that allows advocates of open architecture IP video surveillance to evaluate the state of the IP video industry, and test out new plug-and-play applications.

One of the tricks that JVC showed off at the event involved mobile monitoring of JVC network video recorders using an iPhone. Users were able to access the JVC NVRs simply by entering a URL into the iPhone's iRa Pro mobile video surveillance application. From there, testers could monitor footage and even remotely control JVC network cameras.
