JVC introduces VN-X35U megapixel IP camera

The latest member of JVC's V.Networks lineup, the JVC VN-X35U IP camera, is designed to handle the video surveillance needs of schools, retailers, government and law enforcement agencies, and other industries requiring high-resolution video footage. The VN-X35U is a 1.3 megapixel camera that delivers precise image detail both day and night. It also offers real-time image scaling from VGA to QUAD VGA resolution. This allows users to conserve bandwidth while still benefiting from megapixel resolution when necessary.

The camera has the ability to digitally zoom in on images to provide close-up details, and can also deliver images at a resolution four times that of a standard IP camera. Other noteworthy features include a 1/3 progressive scan CCD sensor, simultaneous JPEG and MPEG-4 streams, two-way audio, Power over Ethernet, and digital pan/tilt/zoom functionality with no moving parts. The JVC VN-X35U also comes with advanced motion detection that outputs an alarm when movement is perceived in a preset area of the image. The camera's day/night abilities deliver images in light levels down to 0.3 lux in color, and 0.2 lux in black and white mode, while its Automatic Gain Control (AGC) optimizes daytime picture quality.
