Fruits and vegetables under surveillance with IQEye HD Megapixel Cameras

Published by Amelia on October 6, 2010 9:53 AM

Hillfresh, a major Dutch fruit and vegetable distributor is now using IQinVision HD megapixel camera technology to improve security and operations at its facility in the Netherlands. Hillfresh has an almost 124,000 square foot facility that handles imports and exports for 21,000 pallets of fruits and vegetables each year. The company installed 21 IQEye HD Megapixel Cameras in strategic locations across the facility.

The IQEye HD cameras deliver high-definition video footage for clear and detailed surveillance. The cameras also feature true day/night performance, automatically switching from color to black-and-white mode in low-light situations. Supported by Power over Ethernet (PoE) the cameras can be easily placed anywhere along the network, allowing Hillfresh flexibility when it comes to installation.

Hillfresh created a video surveillance system to address a number of business concerns and increase operational efficiency within the facility. The IQEye cameras monitor facility staff, trucks entering and exiting the docking station, truck drivers sleeping on the job and parking spaces. The high-quality images from the cameras provide face recognition at warehouse entry points and allow surveillance operators to read the license plates of all vehicles entering the premises.
