Honeywell adds new products to IP video portfolio

Published by Dan on April 21, 2009 1:29 PM

Honeywell is expanding its portfolio of IP video products with new offerings that include high-performance megapixel network cameras, DVRs, and an intelligent video management system. The expanded product line gives users the ability to integrate cutting-edge technology such as video analytics, megapixel resolution, and intelligent surveillance into their existing analog systems or into completely IP-based video surveillance solutions.

The Honeywell EQUIP Series of IP cameras offer high image quality, and can stream 4CIF resolution video at up to 30 frames per second using MPEG-4 compression. The Equip Series line features two high-resolution box cameras, a vandal-proof minidome, and ACUIX PTZ network cameras. Each can function as a standalone solution or as part of an integrated system. A unique feature of these cameras is their ability to detect tampering. The cameras can be programmed to send automated alerts in the event of tampering, vandalism, or obscuring of the lens.

Honeywell is also releasing a herd of new megapixel cameras. The Honeywell HCX Series includes megapixel network cameras offering extremely detailed video footage for object recognition. Because of their high resolution, the cameras can also offer much broader areas than traditional security cameras.

For IP video management, Honeywell offers the MAXPRO VMS intelligent video management system which can control both digital and analog surveillance systems, as well as third party components. The Honeywell Fusion III v3.6 DVR is another new product that aims to ease the transition from analog to IP surveillance.
