Learn How To Select the Best Security Camera System for use in your Home or Business in our Insider's Guide to Video Surveillance.
Carson Oil, a petroleum distribution company located in Oregon implemented a security system that combines flexible and affordable network video recorders from Exacq with high-quality imaging from Arecont Vision surveillance cameras. The company needed a surveillance system to keep track of their operations across the state including tank farms, loading racks, rail yard operations, unattended commercial cardlock sites and convenience stores.
Using exacqVision Client and Server software and 30 Exacq network video recorders, Carson Oil was able to create a surveillance system to monitor and manage their network of over 100 IP cameras from Arecont Vision. Each site features anywhere from two to nine Arecont AV3105 H.264 IP megapixel cameras with outdoor housings or one Arecont AV8365 360 degree camera, and additional AV3105 network cameras for sites with indoor surveillance needs. All sites are monitored through Internet connections in as many as three or four locations using exacqVision software.
Carson Oil had several goals in mind when implementing the surveillance system including recording transaction verification at unattended commercial cardlocks in case there are disputed transactions, preventing theft and vandalism across the sites, and improving overall customer and employee safety.
