Canon VB-C60 PTZ network camera delivers 40x optical zoom

Published by Dan on September 8, 2008 3:38 PM

Canon has added a new PTZ network camera to its surveillance arsenal. The Canon VB-C60 offers pan/tilt/zoom functionality for wide-area surveillance, and features built-in 40x optical zoom for detailed viewing of distant objects. The camera is a compact and versatile solution for video surveillance in schools, hospitals, and other facilities, as well as board room web conferencing.

The highlight of the Canon VB-C60 IP camera is its wide coverage area. The camera features a wide angle lens with a 56-degree horizontal field of view, and a panning range that allows for full 360-degree coverage. It also includes an auto-focus system, image stabilization, and progressive scan CCD for clear video of moving objects and subjects near and far.

One of the more unique features of the Canon VB-C60 network camera is its Panorama Image Creation setting. This allows the user to stitch together the entire viewing range of the camera for a full 360-degree view in a single image. The user can then control the camera to move in on specific portions of the viewing range, or automate it to monitor certain areas at specified intervals.
