The Channel Tunnel (commonly called the "Chunnel"), an undersea tunnel connecting England and France, been called one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World. Completed in 1994, the 50km (31 mile) tunnel is used extensively by freight and passenger trains. Surveillance is an important security tool for ensuring that trains move efficiently and safely.
Looking to boost its Security Systems division, Bosch has agreed to purchase Extreme CCTV for $92 million. Extreme CCTV is a provider of sophisticated video surveillance products that include everything from infrared illuminators to products designed to scan and capture license plate numbers. By acquiring CCTV, Bosch aims to extend its position in the continuously growing video surveillance market.
IP camera manufacturers Axis, Sony, and Bosch have announced that they will work together in an effort to develop a standardized interface for network video products. Currently, no such standard exists for determining how products such as IP cameras, video encoders, and recording software should communicate with each other. The companies hope to deliver a new standard of specifications for video streaming, locating IP devices, and intelligence metadata, amongst others, with the end result being greater interoperability for network video products.
Bosch Security Systems has introduced the latest edition of it Video Management System (VMS) that enables users to view live and recorded images from IP cameras as well as analog CCTV cameras. Users can access surveillance footage remotely from any IP network location. The Bosch Video Management System offers reliable performance with built-in redundancy and failover systems, and allows for tailor-made security access rights which prevent unauthorized users from accessing video images.
Bosch Security Systems is set to release a new line of IP cameras built to handle the most demanding video surveillance applications. The company's Extreme Series IP Cameras combine advanced optics, IP connectivity, infrared illumination, and on-board video analytics, all within a ruggedized housing. The cameras are designed for uncompromised video surveillance in difficult lighting and environmental conditions.
Bosch Security Systems has added a new PTZ camera to its product line. The Bosch AutoDome Easy IP is a compact and affordable indoor pan/tilt/zoom camera that aims to bridge the gap between fixed minidomes and traditional PTZ cameras. The camera's compact size makes it ideal for discrete surveillance applications. It's about half the size of a traditional PTZ camera, and it's also smaller than most minidomes. When you factor in the camera's pan/tilt/zoom functionality, that's a pretty impressive little package. Because of its PTZ capabilities, a single Bosch AutoDome Easy IP camera can monitor wide areas that would normally require multiple fixed minidomes.
Bosch has introduced the NBC-255-P as the first offering in its new 200 Series of all-in-one IP cameras. The Bosch NBC-255-P is a compact IP camera that operates as a complete network surveillance solution, with no additional equipment required. It's designed to make surveillance of small businesses and property easy and affordable. As a stand-alone system, the camera can capture and record several days' worth of footage to an onboard Secure Digital (SD) flash memory card. The camera can also transmit video footage over the network for remote viewing and recording.
Bosh has released new versions of its Video Recording Manager (VRM) and VIDOS Professional Software Suite. Both software solutions now support video streams using cutting-edge H.264 technology. H.264 compression significantly reduces video files sizes, allowing users to stream and record higher quality video images while using less bandwidth and storage space than with previous compression technologies.
Bosch has released a new IP camera built to capture clear and detailed video images in difficult nighttime conditions. The Bosch ZX55 features a 9 to 90mm varifocal infrared-corrected lens for flexible video surveillance installations. Using Bosch's proprietary Black Diamond infrared technology, the camera delivers low-noise nighttime imaging up to 300 meters. This allows the ZX55 to provide outstanding long-range detail even after darkness falls.
Today Bosch announced a new network camera solution designed to operate without the need for a PC or digital video recorder. The Bosh NBC-225-P is an all-in-one network camera features a Secure Digital (SD) flash memory card that can record and store days of high-quality surveillance video footage. With onboard recording capabilities built into the camera, users can save costs on storage, while easing the load on network bandwidth. The camera can also be connected to the network using a single cable for power, camera control, and delivery of video and audio.
Bosch is releasing a new, easy-to-use video management solution geared towards small-scale surveillance applications such as shops, retail stores and pharmacies. The Bosch Video Recorder 400 is simple to setup right out of the box. All you have to do is connect your cameras and power and the unit is able to automatically begin recording. With its built-in web viewer, users can monitor cameras remotely, play back archived footage, and even configure and control their cameras from afar. And in the event of an alarm, the system's video manager will instantly send out an automated email alert.
Bosch has unveiled a new family of standalone IP cameras, each offering a removable 16GB SD card that can record days of footage inside the camera. The Bosch IP 200 Series is geared towards applications such as small office surveillance and video security for retail shops.
Bosch just announced a new series of NVRs and DVRs designed for applications using a mix analog CCTV cameras and IP network cameras. The Bosch 700 Series Hybrid Recorder supports up to 16 analog cameras and 16 IP cameras, while the 700 Series Network Recorder is an all-in-one IP video solution that supports up to 32 IP cameras with H.264 compression.
Bosch Security Systems was recently honored with a PSI Premier Award for its Dinion 2x range of IP network cameras. Hailed by PSI as the CCTV Product of the Year 2010, the Bosch Dinion IP camera series features network cameras that combine a proprietary wide dynamic range CCD sensor and 20-bit digital signal processor to offer exceptionally detailed image quality in low-light conditions.
This week Bosch announced some new additions to its AutoDome Easy series, including a fresh batch of compact PTZ network cameras for both indoor and outdoor use. The new AutoDome Easy II IP series aims to provide discreet surveillance solutions offering advanced features not found in most compact PTZ dome cameras.
Upgrading the functionality of its AutoDome Camera System, Bosch Security Systems introduced a new TCP/IP Communications Module. Easily added to any existing AutoDome Modular camera, the communications module features H.264 main profile compression, Intelligent Video Analysis (IVA), and is compliant with the Open Network Video Interface Forum (ONVIF) standard.
If you’ve been shopping for an IP camera, chances are you’ve seen the phrase ‘ONVIF-compliant.’ But what does that really mean? ONVIF (Open Network Video Interface Forum) is a global and open industry forum that was formed to facilitate the development and use of a global open standard for physical IP-based security products. The forum aims to standardize how IP products within the video surveillance industry communicate with each other.
