Basler Vision introduces IP cameras into surveillance market
Basler Vision Technologies, a longtime leading provider of industrial digital cameras, has announced that it is entering the IP camera market with a line of IP cameras. Like their digital cameras for industrial, traffic and medical applications, Basler Vision IP cameras are compact, high quality and quite robust.
Like many other new IP camera manufacturers, Basler Vision Technologies decided to enter the ever-growing IP camera market to take advantage of the lucrative profit opportunities it may yield (IP cameras are projected to yield $6 billion in sales by 2009). However, executives at Basler also noticed something different: the lack of high quality imaging in the current IP camera market. Usually, manufacturers start to introduce IP cameras after a long stint as providers of networking services or analog video - both effective fields for camera development, but somewhat lacking in the knowledge to make high quality digital cameras. Basler's years of experience of providing the highest quality imaging technologies to industries sets them apart from other manufacturers with backgrounds more focused on networking or CCTV cameras.
Basler's introduction of high quality imaging in security cameras is expected to close the gap between security and high quality imaging. See their new IP camera offerings for the first time at IFSEC 2008 in Birmingham, UK.
