New Axis IP camera products unveiled at ISC West
Axis communications is showcasing a number of new IP products this week at ISC West, including Axis Camera Station 3.0 video management software, the Axis P3301 network camera, and video encoder solutions supporting H.264 compression.
Axis Camera Station 3.0 is the latest incarnation of the company's software package for video playback, monitoring, and managing surveillance footage from up to 50 network cameras. Enhancements with version 3.0 include an improved user interface, support for H.264 video compression, and PTZ camera control using a mouse or joystick.
The company also announced three new video encoder products at ISC West. The Axis Q7401 Video Encoder, Axis Q7406 Video Encoder Blade, and the Axis Q7900 Rack each support the industry's latest, and most efficient video compression format, H.264. H.264 saves a significant amount of storage and network bandwidth when compared to MPEG-4 and Motion JPEG.
The Axis P3301 network camera, which was introduced at ISC West, is another product that supports H.264 video compression. It's clear that, as a network surveillance leader, Axis is staying on top of the latest technological advances. The P3301 is a compact fixed-dome camera designed for unobtrusive indoor use. It delivers exceptional image quality while offering multiple compression streams simultaneously, operates using Power over Ethernet, and features a tamper-resistant cover.
