Axis reveals new video encoders with H.264 support
Axis Communications recently unveiled three new video encoder products that support H.264 compression. H.264 is the latest, cutting-edge compression format that can significantly reduce bandwidth and storage requirements compared with Motion JPEG and MPEG-4. The new encoder products include the Axis Q7401 Video Encoder, the Axis Q7406 Video Encoder Blade, and the Axis Q7900 Rack.
Each of Axis' new encoder products is designed to provide exceptional image processing capabilities, allowing for the delivery of clear and detailed video images with higher resolutions, frame rates, and multiple streaming, while optimizing bandwidth and storage. The Axis Q7401 Video Encoder is designed for integrating a single analog camera into an IP-based surveillance solution. The Axis Q7406 Video Encoder Blade supports six analog channels, while the Axis Q7900 Rack supports up to 84 analog cameras. Each encoder supports H.264 compression, and converts analog signals into digital streams which can be sent over IP networks for viewing and recording.
