Axis network cameras will soon provide video surveillance for Austria's largest grocery chain, SPAR. The cameras will be used in 750 existing SPAR stores, with between 10 and 15 Axis IP cameras installed in each retail location. Each store surveillance system will feature a combination of Axis 207 and Axis 207MW camera models.
The Axis 207 delivers high-quality video images with simultaneous MPEG-4 and Motion JPEG, which will allows users to optimize bandwidth while capturing clear and detailed footage. It also features a built-in microphone for capturing audio. The Axis 207MW is a wireless model with megapixel resolution. This IP camera delivers exceptionally detailed images and covers more area than a traditional security camera, and offers wireless connectivity for flexible installation.
With the Axis camera in place, SPAR is able to remotely monitor surveillance footage from all of its retail locations. System components are easily combined, updates are performed centrally, and the company can use the cameras to not only cut down on theft, but also to plan store layout and product exposure based on customer behavior.
