Axis Communications recently announced that the latest figures from IMS Research estimate the company holds a 33.5 percent global market share for network cameras. The figure was revealed in the 2008 edition of the annual IMS Research report on "The World Market for CCTV & Video Surveillance." The report is based on data compiled for 2007 and contains info on all vendors dealing with analog and digital surveillance equipment.
Axis Communications' network camera global market share is up from 32 percent the previous year, making it the clear market leader. The report also shows Axis as the sixth ranked company overall in video surveillance equipment, and number 3 in the security camera category (combining analogue and IP cameras).
According to IMS Research, the network video market will experience positive long-term term growth. The study estimates an average yearly growth of around 35 percent for the next five years.
