Axis introduces the 215 PTZ-E network camera

This month Axis Communications announced the release of a new PTZ network dome camera designed for harsh environments. The Axis 215 PTZ-E features a rugged dome enclosure that makes it perfectly suited for the most demanding indoor and outdoor surveillance locations. The camera is IP66-rated and comes with a pre-mounted wall bracket and cables for quick, hassle-free installation. Also included is an adapter for mounting the camera on a ceiling.

Other notable features include 12x optical and 4x digital zoom, day/night functionality, simultaneous MPEG-4 and Motion JPEG compression, and 360-degree panning with auto-flip. Auto-flip is a unique feature that allows the camera to deliver full 360-degree panning without blind spots.
