Axis 209FD-R network cameras installed for UK bus surveillance system
EST Buses, based near Bridgend, South Wales, has installed Axis network cameras to provide comprehensive video surveillance for its bus service. Each bus will be equipped with three Axis 209FD-R IP cameras. One camera looks out through the windshield to capture the driver's view, another monitors the front door and driver's area, while the third camera provides a view of the length of the bus' interior.
The Axis 209FD-R is a compact network camera that measures a mere 4cm tall. It's designed for discreet surveillance, and is ideal for surveillance in moving vehicles such as buses and subway trains because of its ability to resist vibration, humidity, and dust. The camera operates using Power over Ethernet and offers progressive scan to deliver clear and detailed images.
Axis has already achieved a good deal of success within the transportation sector, and the 209FD-R adds to their strong lineup of cameras designed for this type of surveillance.
