This week Arecont Vision announced the launch of a new high-resolution camera series featuring compact network cameras available in 1.3, 2, 3, or 5 megapixel formats. The new batch of cameras joins Arecont Vision's MegaVideo lineup, only these cameras are half the size as the original full-size models. Despite their small stature, they offer the same image quality, frame rates, processing, and many of the same sophisticated features as the existing MegaVideo cameras, and are designed for end-users with a tighter budget.
Available models in the compact JPEG megapixel camera series include the 1.3-megapixel (AV130 and the day/night AV1310DN), 2-megapixel models (AV2110 and AV2100DN), 3-megapixel (AV3110 and AV3110DN), and the 5-megapixel (AV5110 and AV5110DB). The idea behind the release is to provide high-performance cameras at a price that's not out of reach to those who were previously unable to afford megapixel technology.
Each camera is equipped with onboard motion detection and 64 zone capability, customizable resolution and image quality settings, and a "Moonlight" mode that enhances performance in low-light settings. Day/night versions are also available for applications requiring continuous 24-hour performance.
Arecont Vision plans on releasing the new fleet of cameras in February.
