Private company uses video surveillance to point out border flaws
Illegal immigration. It's one of the most heated and divisive issues Americans face today, and in its wake, has spawned a number of bills and acts, including the REAL ID act of 2005.
Another byproduct of the illegal immigration debate has been citizen militias. These groups, usually located in the American Southwest, along the U.S.-Mexico border, actively patrol swathes of desert and dry wilderness in a search for foreign nationals attempting to illegally enter the country.
One of these groups, U.S. Evolutions, Inc. has used video surveillance cameras to monitor privately owned land along the U.S.-Mexico border, both to point out how many illegal immigrants cross over every day, but to also aid Border Patrol agents and point out what they see as major security flaws in the United States' border policy. Thanks to social networking websites like YouTube, companies like U.S. Evolutions have made their call for improved border security widespread. Here's an example of their surveillance video at work:
